Borana Lodge is set on the edge of the Samangua Valley with panoramic views of Mount Kenya and Kenya’s Northern Frontier.
The Lodge offers eight romantic and unique cottages, each with an open fireplace and private veranda which offers breathtaking views of the area. Four of the cottages have large double beds and four have twin beds – both of which are queen size. Four of the cottages have their own veranda. Two sets of cottages share a veranda, both of which has a phenomenal view over the dam.
The Borana makes it easy to fully experience the rugged landscape – helicopters can be chartered to give guests a bird’s eye view of the landscape around Mount Kenya, game drives take you out among the wildlife and riding safaris offer guests an intimate and exciting view of the surrounds. Guests will also get a chance to see how the Borana functions as a working ranch.
The Borana is a family affair – one that you’ll be encouraged to join. The Dreyer family have carefully created this little piece of heaven, which blends seamlessly with their surroundings, creating a truly Kenyan safari experience. Borana takes its name from the native Boran cattle farmed on the arid grasslands.
