8: EAST AFRICA WILDLIFE ADVENTURE
ADVENTURE SAFARIS:
Africa is one area where adventurers who focus on classic outdoor activities such as trekking-would do well to investigate group travel. Although the group mode may go against the do-it yourself instincts of many wilderness buffs, the peculiarities of the African outdoors frequently justify group participation. Indeed unless you are truly a master of wilderness self-sufficiency and have studiously planned for the trip, some adventures could be foolhardy. Organized group expeditions allow you to participate on bush adventures without having to tackle a myriad of problems. Such tours also provide professional guidance, which is essential for any serious African adventure to be attempted safely. The key here is experience. As our guide knows the minutiae of the bush: By their nature, adventure tours are participatory
